[Friends, In Memoriam] Ron E Has Passed
I report with deepest sadness the passing of my long-time friend, known on this Blog as Ron E. Several weeks ago, he told me that he had been tentatively diagnosed with advanced cancer of the kidney. For many years previously, he had battled with kidney stones. The week before Christmas, he was in the hospital for treatment of a pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in his lungs). I talked with him at length on Sunday December 16th, 2007 at which time he was expecting to get biopsy results back in the near future. At that time, he thought that the doctors considered the 10cm diameter mass of tumors on his left kidney to be inoperable, so he would most likely be beginning chemotherapy and radiation treatment. I had not heard from him since.
Today I received e-mail from his sister reporting his passing, but giving no details. I have sent back a reply requesting additional information, if she is willing to share it.
I mourn.
The world has lost a Myers-Briggs INTJ. I have lost a fast friend.

[Colorado] Snow!
I have about four inches of fluffy new snow, with more falling. The roads seem to have about six inches, with more in places. I got another half an inch while I cleared my driveway and sidewalks. The thermometer is nippy, at about 18?F.
