Versions 2.2
In making version 2.2, I wanted to take the basic design of 2.1 and add simple adjustable footbraces.

I decided that
the best alternative was to add commercial footbraces to the boat.
I used Keepers™ brand footbraces from Chesapeake
Light Craft.

The braces
are mounted to rails made of 1 1/4" x 1/8" aluminum stock.
The stock is drilled at the ends and bent to fit.

The rails are
screwed into the front of the "masik" (form 2) with stainless
steel screws. They are bolted onto form 1 with stainless steel screws,
nuts and washers.

The rails sit
slightly indented from the profile of the gunwale and chine.

A shot of the
finished footbraces. This should help significantly with sizing the
boats for kids of various dimensions.
