SOF Construction - Page 6

Five good hours of work and we have the keelson and chines on and lashed, the bow stem plate on, the masik carved and in, and the rear deck stringers in. It is starting to come together nicely.
The masik. It is carved from a solid piece of pine. Like most of the wood on this boat, it was recycled.
The bow stem plate.
The deck stringers.
A view of the keelson and chines setting up the lines of the boat.
Looking towards the bow from the masik.
The chine lashing at the stern.
The stern recess cut. Unfortunately, I was a bit overzealous with the chisel and split the grain on the stern cutwater. Fortunately, I have lots of TitebondII and clamps left over from my strip boat. After the glue cures I will finish the recess and install the stem plate.
Looking forward from the stern.
