Interests

Travel.  I'd like to live and work abroad again.  I enjoy living in places where even the ordinary tasks in one's day (shopping, asking for directions) are new and interesting.

Languages.  I like speaking with people in their native language, and I enjoy learning new languages.  I prefer living in international cities (such as Los Angeles and San Francisco) that bring together people from all walks of life.

Family.  I enjoy barbecues with my family, hiking and evening walks.  I enjoy going to movies, amusement parks and the zoo with my girls, Malina (14) and Mumbi (10).  My wife has a large extended family, and it's a lot of fun when we all get together.

Sports.  I ran track in high school and part of college, and I like the way it feels to stay in shape.  I regularly go to the gym, but what I really like is to play basketball.  I also enjoy mountain biking.  Until my squash partner went back to Belgium, I enjoyed our weekly competition.

Photography.  In high school and college, I was a photographer on the school paper and yearbook, and had my own darkroom in the bathroom.  Now that digital photography has matured, enjoy playing with Photoshop.

Current Affairs.  I like to keep informed about current affairs, and discuss the important issues of the day with others who share my interest.

Friends.  I enjoy getting together with friends, and socializing.  Ideally many of my friends will also be people I work with.
