Marc & I were trying to help reserve a block of rooms for everyone, but it has become too crazy w/ everything else we've got to do  ~  We have now decided to give the information to each family and let you decide where you would like to stay.  We hope this task is not to crazy for anyone.  Good luck and we can't wait to share our Special Day with each and everyone of you.

Thank you,

Love, Marc and Hope

List of Hotels
There are six hotels at exit 61 in Chester, Virginia. All are within about three (3) miles of our house, w/ easy access to I-95, and are less than 20 miles from Mayfield Inn. All accept AAA and AARP (Nate), and all have a Continental Breakfast. They are all pretty much w/in half a mile of each other -- on each side of I-95. Outdoor pools will probably be closed (Brrrrr!)

If you belong to a travel club, you can find rates much cheaper than the "street rates" they quote over the phone. With MY travel club, I can usually get rates at the Comfort Inn on the order of $45 per night (two adults). I think you can probably find rates similar to this. If you just keep asking and asking, you can get different rates -- as a last resort, tell them it's for a business meeting and you can get the corporate rate, down to $67. If you want to try to get really low rates, try bidding on rooms at http://www.priceline.com -- try the 2-star hotels and bid at the low-range rates of the 1-star hotels. Let me know what you find!

Places to Eat:

Resturants are very close -- the best being Cracker Barrel - Friendly, southern cooking, and a country-home atmosphere (i.e. BIG MEAL).
"Real" (Sit Down) Resturants:  Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, Rosa's Pizzaria, River's Bend Grill and Bar (Food Lion shopping center), Shoney's, Denny's, Western Sizlin', Waffle House (yuck), George's Steak House, Friendly's, and tons more.
HoJo's has a "nite club" (kind of) called Peppermint Lounge.
Fast Food:  Wendy's, Captain D's, McD's, Taco Bell, Subway, Hardee's,
Take Out:  Top's Chinese, Ukrop's also has wonderful take-out, custom cooked! You can also eat in their cafe.

Shopping for last minute items:

Did you remember shampoo?:  Target. About 4 miles away, there's South Park Mall w/ tons o' stores, with MY favorite, Wal-Mart, close by. (We don't shop at K-Mart because of their violently anti-Second Amendment spokesperson, Rosie O-Donnell -- an evil, loud-mouthed devil if I've ever seen one).  In and 'round the mall, there are plenty of other stores, including Books-A-Million, which has "Joe Mugg's Coffee" -- for the real caffiene conneseur.

Need a quick Ice Cream Fix?  Grocery stores include Ukrop's and Winn Dixie, and down near us, Food Lion. Ukrop's is the nicest -- a light, clean, family-run chain, with very happy and friendly employees. Winn Dixie and Food Lion are 24-hours. Ukrop's actually let their employees go home at night! ;-) They are also closed on Sundays.

Need to BUILD a place to stay?  There's a Lowe's and a Home Depot.

Drug stores (did you remember to bring your drugs?) -- there's a CVS near Winn Dixie.

There's a Hallmark besided Ukrop's in case anyone forgot a card. ;-)

Miscellaneous:

There's a medical walk-in clinic across from Target.

Map, Map, who's got the Map?
The Mayfield Inn
has a web site (I mistakenly listed their site as a .com instead of the correct .net in our invitation mailout)
Or try their new domain, MayfieldInn.com, which may not be up for a little while -- same site, new name...
