Born in Paris, Marianne spent a few short months there before she and her parents boarded a ship bound for New York. They bounced from there to Oakland, CA, where, at age 2, Marianne was almost hit by a car as she raced unattended across Telegraph Ave., a very busy street, to greet her father who was coming home from work in San Francisco. She immediately decided it would be safer to spend less time running around and more time doing art. Not counting a few exceptional years in her twenties, she has followed that credo to this day.
