On Christmas Day we had a nice breakfast, put on one of the Christmas CDs I had brought from home, put the roast in the oven, and then gathered in the living room to open our gifts - fancy teas, candies (Turkish Delight and Rainforest chocolate), books, and other mementos. Around 2:00 we called home to wish a Merry Christmas to the girls and the grandchildren. |

Time for Christmas Lunch! For starters we had "mini gallettes", little puff pastries topped with carmelized onions, roasted peppers, goat cheese, etc., and an assortment of olives. The funny hats came from the Christmas crackers that were on our seats at the theatre Thursday night. (We gathered up a couple of extras) |

I brought the Christmas cloth from home, and there was a nice assortment of china for a festive holiday meal. |

The stuffed lamb was delicious - with oven browned carrots, parsnips, and mashed sweet potatoes (all bought by Aimee and Joe). The fancy green beans (haricots verts?) were from the gourmet market on Drury Lane. |

Since we weren't certain that everyone would like the traditional Christmas pudding, Joe and Aimee bought an assortment of luscious pastries to round out the dessert course. The Christmas pudding was delicious - with 3 kinds of hard sauce: brandy, rum, and ?? We didn't try flaming it though - not having the expertise.. |
