Like it so often does for many of
our family events, it rained for this one. After we hung the wet stuff up to dry, we went about tracing the route that Ace showed us during the Fall Colors Ride. Our plan was to try the same obstacles now that we had more experience with our rigs (and the Trooper had a few mods). Most of the time I was just using 2H and Don was using AWD on this trip. What a difference from Fall Colors! Here is the first obstacle. Since the fire road was so tame, we explored some of the side trails. We even found some nice mud holes to play in. My "new" tires worked great. Don complained about the Duelers that come on the stock FJs.
Just as for the Fall Colors, we stopped for a while at the top of the mountain. The view as a nice as I remembered. But the meadow looked a lot bigger with only 2 rigs up there rather than the 40 or so that we had for Fall Colors. We found a couple of more obstacles on the back side of the mountain, but never could find the one that gave us so much trouble on Fall Colors. All in all it was a good trip. It was nice to be able to air up before hitting the pavement. During Fall Colors we had to make the curvy decent with our tires aired down.
