I use to build and fly 1/5th scale RC planes (a 4 stroke replica of the French TR260 stunt plane with smoker system being my favorite), but I wasn't much of a pilot when it came to landings.

rrcross3.gif (8043 bytes) My hobby of choice is N-Scale trains.  I have over 336 pieces of rolling stock and am currently building a modern container port.  With a love for Santa Fe and Southern Pacific, I model from the 1970s to today.  Everything I've learned has been from Lowell Smith and the gang at The Hobby Smith.  For my layout design I tried many packages, but I'm hooked on the best program in the world, 3rdPlanIt™ by Randy of El Dorado Software.  Check out Randy's web site and community at www.TrackPlanning.com.

Inspirations?  The Port of Los Angeles by Robert Smaus in Model Railroader's 6 HO Railroads You Can Build (Everything is better in 'N' scale--does the plan below look familiar Robert?  Thanks!).  Check out the Kingsbury Branch, which appeared in both the January 1997 and May 1998 editions of Model Railroader magazine.  The sweeping S curve on Jack Parker's Northern Pacific (thanks to James Herzman for the great photos and the links--his site can be found at the CyberWorld of Trains).  Last, but not least, the The Oregon Trunk at Lowell's Hobby Smith.
