The National Association of Information Technology Change Management (NAITCM) debuts new concept in “Vendor Shoot Out”

DENVER -- October 17, 2001 -- The National Association of IT Change Management (NAITCM) will host the first annual “Vendor Shoot Out” at the Hotel Teatro here on November 9, 2001. Local and national vendors in the field of IT change management will exhibit and present, including Aspen Software Consultants, Catalyst, Cybermation, Computer Associates, IBM, Merant, MKS, Rational, SCM Labs, Serena, TeamShare, and Telelogic.

“The concept of inviting all the vendors to speak freely on their services and products is different,” says Dale Minter, NAITCM President. “Most trade shows do not allow speakers to emphasize their own or competitors’ features and benefits during formal speeches and presentations. We’re breaking the rules.”

The event focuses on the vendor presentations -- the “Shoot Out” aspect -- not just the exhibits. In addition to the exhibit hall, three separate rooms will allow three simultaneous presentations every hour. Each company will have the opportunity to deliver two one-hour presentations during the day-long event .

Consolidating this much information, sales and networking opportunity into one event gives both vendors and potential clients an easy way to gather information about each other.

Software development organizations in the market for change management solutions can spend a day, or a few hours, at this event instead of bringing each company into their own offices for separate sales presentations.

Vendors get a targeted audience of potential clients, as well as networking opportunities with providers of complimentary services and products. And of course, they get to learn what the competition is doing.

Scott Lehman, NAITCM Secretary, sums it up. “The Vendor Shoot Out concept provides a new way to exchange information and learn who’s who and what they offer, whether you are a vendor or an IT manager looking for solutions.”

The Vendor Shoot Out will take place at the Hotel Teatro on November 9, 2001 from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. A cash bar cocktail reception will take place from 5 to 7 pm.

NAITCM was founded in October 2000 by Denver-area change management professionals. It is a national organization whose goals are to advance the concepts of IT change management, facilitate and encourage communication and cooperation in the industry, and to help practitioners provide better information, education and solutions to the IT world.
