Programmer/Analyst – Basis Administrator - Hewlett Packard December 1999 to June 2007

Responsible for the functioning of the Basis layers and the underlying technical infrastructure – HPUX with Oracle databases - for the SAP R/3 (IJ1 - 3000 users and PAH - 500 users) and BW (Business Warehouse) installations for Inkjet supply chain. Functioning of the transport management system, client/instance management, database refreshes and client copies/transports. User and user authorization maintenance. System security. System monitoring. System performance and capacity planning. Version management. Downtime planning and communication. SAP object archiving. Supported all SOX (Audit) related activities. Relationship management with external partners. Direct and indirect project support. Provided technology consulting, design and implementation in the context of IT platforms for hardware-printer operations and ink-supplies operations for finance, manufacturing, purchasing, planning, logistics and part management functions as well as pan-IPG supply chain execution activities. Worked collaboratively within the platform team and with the manufacturing, supply chain, logistics and planning groups to accomplish all activities and supported technology development for their platforms as appropriately based on Plan of Record decisions. Lost Tribes Project – over 3 years developed and maintained authorization for 12 separate businesses within the company. This consolidated business divisions within HP to a single SAP environment
Developed and implemented a perl based 30, 60, and 90 day notification to users to log onto system or be deleted. ~ 440 logons a year were removed at a savings of ~$800 per logon or $350,000 per year
Developed and implemented an automated tracking system against the HP Enterprise Directory (centralized HP employee database) to validate employees on SAP systems
Developed and implemented a web based cgi/perl user info/authorization reporting tool. This allowed non SAP users to look at each user’s authorizations and user information such as manager, job description, last log on, etc.
Developed a web based logon request system for SAP to acknowledge and track approvals and notify responsible parties for access to the SAP systems in accordance with security audit procedures.
Coordinated move of R/3 and supporting BW systems from Toronto to Houston. This was the first roll-out of an SAP R/3 and BW fully tiered system into the global HP data centers. HP wanted to make sure this project was completed before I left the organization due to my knowledge of the systems. Besides the Basis related activities for this project, I created and deployed a system to move redo logs from Toronto to Houston to update the Houston systems with changes made after initial restore tapes were sent. This process included process checks on failures and paging capabilities if the process was stuck for over 2 hours. This process also compressed the redo log files to reduce network traffic.

Information Technology Specialist – Hewlett Packard August 1995 to December 1999

Responsible for MM, FACTS, Lotplus, Atlas Message Server, Maui and ASC web reports. Investigated, designed and recommended development specifications in support of established projects. Performed actual development, testing, training and documentation for projects where internal development resources were used. Performed vendor evaluation, recommendation and project leadership for projects where development was subcontracted or software was purchased from outside vendors. Evaluated and recommended new technologies for use by IT programming team in developing business solutions. Participated in pilot projects to apply new technologies to customer defined projects. Facilitated the technology transfer to IT programming teams through training recommendations and individual coaching and consulting. Responsible for the systems analysis, software solution evaluation, programming, implementation, training and internal documentation required to support the customer’s system needs. System Administrator (Corvallis Service Center) – Hewlett Packard May 1992 to August 1995

Responsible for providing information technology support to the Corvallis Service Center and ESO Americas for ongoing software maintenance. Worked with users to develop, recommend and implement solutions to create and/or improve software tools. Developed, supported, trained and troubleshoot CSC LAN network and associated applications.
