Graduation
The Newburg Commencement was held May 21,
1958 in the Newburg School Auditorium. The speaker for the evening was
Mr. Kramer, County Extention Agent of Bottineau County. Arlan Norman gave
the Valedictory while Robert Lucht gave the Salutatory. Other members of
the senior class are Darwin Hunskor, Eugene Wyman, Eugene Noraker, Jordiene
Thorenson, Dorothy Halvorson, Gail Lokken, David Hall and Harvey Teske.
Reverend Cary from Westhope gave the invocation and the benediction. Ruby
Thorenson played the processional and recessional.
BaceaIaureate
Baccalaureate services were held on Sunday
evening, May 18, 1958, at the Newburg School Auditoriume Father Cote from
Westhope delivered the Baccalaureate sermon. Ruby Thorenson played the
processional and recessional.
Junior-Senior Banquet
The Junior-Senior
Banquet was held at the church basement in Newburg, May 15, 1958, at 6:30
P.M.
Monroe Scheflo
was the master of ceremonies and also gave the welcome. Eugene Wyman,
senior class president, gave a response. Each of the high school teachers,
Mr. Obert Berke, Mr. Robert Hunskor, Mr. Ervin Miller and Mr. Oswald Noraker,
spoke a few words.
The theme of the
banquet was "Tropicana". The decorations were in many different colors.
The ceiling was the color of the sky at night while in a Jungle scene.
while the meal was served Hawaiian music played in the background.v
