Character Origin

“Grandpa” Forester was an imposing man to his former subordinates in the Air Force but to his grandson Troy he was simply “Grandpa”. Troy never asked how his parents died. It never seemed important, living on the remote mountains overlooking Lake Sunapee. Grandpa provided almost everything a 14 year old boy could ever need. Troy eagerly studied Grandpa’s survivalist teachings and self defense regimen. The arrival of the Rikti changed all that. Grandpa was reactivated and promptly disappeared and Troy continued his studies at hidden bases during the war. At 18 he knew it would take money to find his grandfather so he volunteered for biological experiments. "Imagine being able to recover from any wound", the Doctors offered. Troy thought back to his Grandpa’s lessons and the skunks so prevalent on the mountain: "The strongest animal in the forest doesn’t need to fight to make you remember your encounter, and even the grizzly knows to run the other way when they meet."

Fun Facts

• The government scientists believed that Mustelidae’s “treatments” were unsuccessful as his powers didn’t manifest for over 5 weeks after they were administered. He was released and his file closed before he discovered his regenerative abilities. He has not corrected their mistake.
• The gauntlets which release his claws were purchased by him at an auction aimed at a supervillain clientele. After claiming them Mustelidae promptly defeated the auctioneer’s crew and recovered several other devices.
• Mustelidae’s grandfather effectively ceased to exist after he was conscripted to fight the Rikti. Even enlisting the aid of his new contacts in the superhero community has turned up no viable leads. Regardless he still searches.
