“First Art“ is a series of bright, acrylic works intended to brighten a child’s space, giving the child an early appreciation for art. In addition, “First Art“ can function as an educational visual aid. This series of paintings is based on the experiences of the artist over more than 25 years working with children of all ages in performing arts, preschool, day cares and library story times.
For infants, the simple shapes will function as visual stimulation. Toddlers will delight in pointing out animals and learning the sounds they make. Parents and their children will have fun as they go over colors and geometric shapes together. As the child matures, the alphabet and numerals 1-10 will become interesting. Language opportunities will arise naturally as parents encourage the child to discover such things as, “Which animal is the largest?“ “Which animal is in the middle?“ “How many animals are in the picture?“
As the child matures, it will be natural to notice straight vs. curvy lines, geometric shapes vs. organic shapes and different brush strokes.
Each piece comes with an individualized list of conversation starters and discoveries for parents and children to enjoy together.
