Now's your chance to belong to the fastest growing shooting sport! Welcome to a world where folks dress up in the garb of the old west, whether it be banker, bartender, lawman, outlaw, or your favorite western film star. The Virginia City Marshals is affiliated with the Single Action Shooting Society™ and the National Rifle Association™. I promise you that you will not meet a finer bunch of folks, or have as much fun that you feel guilty about it!

This is not a fast draw shootin' sport! This sport is for all levels of shooting. We use firearms from the period of 1860 to 1899 (reproductions and some originals). Then we create a story and shoot a scenario (or a course of fire) around that scenario. It could be from a real event, from a movie, or just the wild imagination of the designer.

Basically what ya need is a good attitude and a friendly smile! Of course, you also will need two pistols, a rifle, and a shotgun. The pistols can be .32 caliber or larger, even a cap and ball. Now the rifle must be a pistol caliber, sorry, you will have to leave that ole .30-.30 at home. The shotgun can be of several types. My favorite is a side by side mule eared (external hammer for you city folk) coach gun, course lots of folks favor the Winchester model '97 or side by sides with internal hammers. Your ammo must be all lead, including the shotgun.
Leave your Velcro, tennis shoes, and baseball hats at home folks! This here ain't called Cowboy Action Shooting (tm) for nothing. We have cowfolks dress up in all manners and styles. You will see everything from barkeeps, undertakers, traveling snake oil men, Saloon gals, ranch hands, military types, to good guys and bad guys.
The best thing to do is to visit a couple of clubs and see how folks are dressing and what they are shooting. Ask questions, as we are not bashful about talking! So before you go out and spend a lot of money, see what's what and hopefully save yourself some time and cash.
