We are deeply interested in our family genealogy. Marston started on his
project in 1992 and now has over 7,000 ancestors recorded in his database. Kathy started
in earnest in 1994 and has accumulated over 1500 names.
I have been able to capture much information about my mother's family, the Felds, of Wisconsin. They immigrated to New York in the early 1800's from Germany. The family ultimately
settled in Sheboygan Wisconsin where many Feld descendants (many of my cousins) still reside.
In 1997, we paid a visit to Sheboygan and
re-established connections with cousins, aunts, and uncles. We had a wonderful time
staying with Dolores and Eddie Van De Kreek. While we were there, we saw where Dolores was
born, in a house where the Feld's lived for years.
The Sheboygan county courthouse contained a wealth of information going all the way back to when the Feld's first arrived there. Birth, death, and marriage vital records were located for many Feld ancestors.
One of the best
pictures that we received was a portrait of Paul Feld and Anna Manthey on their wedding
day. Paul and Anna were my grandparents. I treasure this picture and plan to store it on
