Alternating months with the Digital Photography SIG
(Check the PACS monthly meeting schedule)
This SIG explores the far-reaching scope of Photoshop, an application that has become a standard of the photography, graphics, web, and printing industries.
Developed in the late eighties by Thomas and John Knoll and originally named “Display,” it was first licensed to Barnyscan and packaged with their scanners as “Barnyscan XP.” Only 200 copies were sold. In 1988 it was licensed to Adobe and released, finally, as Photoshop, in 1990. Since then, an industry has developed around its extensive capabilities.
Members of this SIG will find that learning and knowing Photoshop is a never-ending quest; yet, with just a basic understanding of the application, amazing things can be accomplished.
The SIG Leader is Marty Snyder, a media teacher at the University of the Arts from 1986 until 2003. His work has been displayed in numerous galleries and exhibits in the Philadelphia area and the Krasdale Gallery in New York.
All are welcome!
