L.E.A.P. = Leadership Empowerment Action Project - A joint venture of Wheelock College, the Schott Family Foundation, and the Center for the Child Care Work Force. MASS LEAP encourages Early Childhood educators to advocate for children and the profession in Massachusetts. Additional LEAP courses exist across the nation working for improvements in compensation and working conditions, in order to provide the best possible care and education for children!
This web site offers early education and care professionals who work closely with children and families the opportunities to expand their roles as leaders and advocates in the movement toward universally accessible, high quality, affordable early childhood programs. By surfing web sites, reflection and analysis, early childhood educators are encouraged to consider the historical foundations of early childhood education as well as the current socio-economic systems and policies, which affect the field by examining theoretical frameworks of individual and organizational leadership. In addition, concrete skill development will be encouraged including: coalition building, effective organizing and advocacy strategies, communications and media work. Good luck and please contact us!
