Letter Knowledge -
Breaking the Code

Helping preschool children learn letter shapes and the corresponding sounds in an enjoyable way is part of intentional literacy teaching for the preschool years.  "Learning letters" includes various skills: recognizing capital letters and lower case, various types of print, understanding that directionality maters and beginning to print the letters.
