Forum Blog: Small Firefox Search Engine Bloglet
I am going to tell you about
1) my favorite search feature for Firefox,
2) how to add world cat libraries to it, and
3) how to add more search engines to it.
1) Don't use Google for search, as they retain your search history under many
conditions. Use alternate Google indexer www.scroogle.com instead!
It is built-in to the Web Search Pro search feature (search bar and context
search).
Get the Web Search Pro extension for Firefox,
at:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/552
2) We learned Tuesday at Uniforum about the library search site:
http://www.worldcatlibraries.org
(Visit and get free registration, providing localized search and more!)
Add the search for worldcatlibraries.org to the Firefox search engine at:
http://www.worldcat.org/toolbars/default.jsp
3) Get even more search engines at:
http://websearchpro.captaincaveman.nl
or
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search-engines.php
That was your mini Firefox extension lecture for 9/27-9/28.
Sincerely,
Murry Sigman
