Unusual Sources for Boston:  The Records of Many Institutions and Events, Ann S. Lainhart.  Learn about the scope and type of records that are available from a broad range of unusual sources, including those of the poor and the truants, as well as taxpayers and voters lists – also food for thought in other cities and towns.

The Lineage Society Application Process:  Genealogy Methods and Practice, Barbara Jean Matthews, CG.  An overview of how to get your research and documentation procedures up to snuff, locate the documents you need, and what to use as alternatives when ordinary sources are missing.

The 1930 Federal Census:  Release, Contents, and Use, Walter V. Hickey.  This talk provides important information about the contents of 1930 census to be released April 1, 2002, with tips and strategies for finding your way without a Soundex index by using city directories and Census Enumeration District maps.

 Photo Identification and Preservation:  Protect Your Family’s Photographic History, Maureen A. Taylor, MS.  Learn about simple techniques to identify, organize and preserve your family photos as well as provide clues for other aspects of your family history research.
