Arga Bella was born on the planet Argus in 3980, making her the oldest of the Unlikely Heroes. At age six, she was given the opportunity to shake the hand of Argus Fortis, an Argan superhero with super strength. Suddenly Arga Bella collapsed, unable to move or even stand. While at the hospital, it was discovered that she had a super power as well: whenever she touched another superhero, she would, for a limited time, take on the reverse of the power of the person she touched. When she touched Argus Fortis, whose power was muscular strength, she suddenly took on muscular weakness for a few hours. Because all Argans are named after some attribute of theirs, she took on the name "Reversa."

In 3999, while a student at the University of Argus, Arga Bella Reversa volunteered to tutor younger foreign exchange students from other planets. One of these exchange students, a young Martian Nueva American teenager named Amber Parallax, befriended Arga Bella Reversa, giving her the nickname "Arg." Amber, who had a super sense of smell, invited Arg to the M.N.A. Superhero Convention in the summer of 4000 as her superhero partner. The two of them decided they would look for other conventioneers to join with them as a team of fighters of evil.

While at the convention, newly discovered superheroes Furnitron and the Goat decided to take the girls' offer to form a team. The four of them quickly banded together to fight an invasion of M.N.A. led by Neil Quercus, an old enemy of Amber's father.
