Although only 34 years old,
Dr. Super Jason was born in the United States of America, on planet
Earth, thousands of years ago when the planet was still habitable.
While in high school, he and his twin brother
Mike were sent to live on the planet Alopecia; they carried a rare mutant gene
which gave them the power to shoot fire. This power was connected to the digestion
of a certain enzyme found in the fruit of a tree native to Alopecia; eating this
fruit gave them the power to shoot fire. The King of Alopecia commissioned Jason
and Mike to defend their planet against various invading armies. Or so Jason thought. He found out later that his origins were much more uncertain, and that his memory of life on Earth as a child were implanted. He also learned that Mike, who had apparently left to pursue his own superhero interests, was not even his biological brother. Although genetically an Earthling, no one knows Super Jason's true birthplace. His power of fire was apparently given to him by a group of evil scientists, but their purpose in doing so remains shrouded in mystery. Jason's work as a superhero on Alopecia eventually reached a point where it conflicted with the interests of his creators, so they recaptured him and took away his fire-shooting power. Just weeks after this happened, his girlfriend broke up with him, causing him to fall into a deep near-suicidal depression. In order to start a new life, Jason went into suspended animation for almost two thousand years. He awoke in the year 3987. After seeking therapy for his own depression, he decided he wanted to use his life to help other depressed superheroes regain a sense of purpose. He enrolled in the University of Martian Nueva America to study psychology, and became a superhero therapist. One day, a new patient calling himself The Goat walked into Dr. Super Jason's office. Jason and the Goat soon regained their sense of purpose together, as Jason realized that that which makes one a superhero truly comes from within... |
