So why do I call my practice swords Beenie sticks. Well, reason 1. Have you ever heard someone say "Do it or so help me I'll bean you". I say to that "Bean me with what". 2. It kind of looks like a cop batton (Ya it's cool).
3. People always tease me that "Oh he's playing with sticks. So stick that all together and that's how I got that name. Ya ya just tell me how to make it. Keep your pants on and I'll tell you now. Okay so first find a metal pipe (say aliuminum, copper, or steel) that has a 3/4 In. diameter (that size pipe fits bike grip(s)).
Two handed are about 2.5-3 Ft. long and require two grips. One handed are 1.5-2 Ft. long and require one grip. Then get or make a wood pole (I use MN. Cedar, because it rots so slow. But use what wood you like) of the correspoding diameter and length as your metal pipe.
Now to put that together, Step 1.(Note: Only if you used the 3/4 In. pipe) put the bike grip(s) on the pipe.
Step 2. Slide the wood pole in the pipe.
Step 3. Drill holes at both ends down through the pipe and wood.
Step 4. put screws throught the holes.
Step 5. Cut the pointed potruding ends of the screws off.
Step 6 (Optional).Pollish pipe with steel wool for a good looking Beenie stick (also makes beenie sticks last longer).
