My name is John McGarrah as you would have probably have guessed
by now. I was born in 1985 in Honolulu Hawaii. I lived in Boulder Colorado and now here in Petaluma California.
I love computers, especially webdesigning. I am also expanding my expertise
to other posibilities such as, Digital Video, Photography, and general Design such as programing
Computer in my Blood?
I started using computers in high school, but didnt get into the computer field until I was a senior. This is roughly the time I got a decent computer and started to browse the web. It was also my senior year when I took my first web design coarse.
Of course there was no stopping my addiction for computers now. I progressed
through school, spending many hours on my computer learning it and the web.
Finally getting the programs for myself made me want to learn them even more. So I continued making web sites, learning through the internet and self teaching.
I think that I am putting more into making web sites now instead of just making a site and throwing content into it.
I take the layout more serious and it results in better, more profesional looking material.
I get a lot of inspirations from many sites. The harder they look, the more i want to know how and what they're made of. This is how I got into Flash. Seeing so many sites with it these days made me also want to use it. You can also show off to your friends to see the new ideas that are made through it.
I know that I will be taking more classes in the near future to further my knowledge in this field. Whether it is web design, graphic design, digital video, photography, or programing, I know that it will be technology based. But for now, Im going with web design because I enjoy doing this the most. Just creating and learning with every day to come.
Computing Course / Future
Studies.
I took a webdesign class, at Casa Grande High School.
This was a 1 year course(2 semesters), during which I designed my very first web
sites, which indeed were quite poor, as anyone's first pages are.
Then after a couple of these original designs, I began experimenting
more with my designs, and eventually produced my first commercial looking
work "Johnswork."

The Quest for Employment.
Having the thought of job seekng
inspired me to do version 1 of Johns portfolio, which had a list
of my 4/5 we sites I had created. I know I will create more and better sites but this is a good start in showing what I can do.
I hope that later, I will find myself
employed in what I like doing best, designing web sites, and doing
graphical work in Photoshop.
