Nana Liz's Walnut Bars

20 Minutes prep, 25 Minutes cook

 

Makes:

10-12 servings

Ingredients:

 

1

egg

 

1 cup

brown sugar

 

1 cup

walnuts

 

½  tsp

vanilla

 

¾ cup

all-purpose flour

 

½  tsp

baking soda

 

pinch

salt

Directions:

  1. Beat 1 egg, add 1 cup brown sugar, and mix until very smooth

  2. Stir in 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 tsp vanilla, and ¾ cup flour, sifted with the baking soda and the salt. 

  3. Spread the batter in a greased 9x9 pan. 

 

Bake at 325o F for 25 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. 

Tips:

Don't overbake or the bars will harden like concrete!
