This is a web site about the design and construction of a large scale indoor railroad. I have always been interested in model railroading but never had the time, money, space for more than a beginners HO set. I saw a LGB set in the window of a store and was hooked on large scale. The initial set was a circle of track running around the Christmas tree for my daughters. The next year the trains ran all through the living room and well the rest is history. I bought a bigger home that had a 900 sf. dry English basement and started in. I set down my goals in writing before I built a thing; plenty of scenery, constant running ability, enough track for operations and most important to have fun. I have built everything by myself and have relieved a lot of day to day stress by creating my basement empire.
