Minimum fitness standard for crew.

·     8-10 push-ups

·     35 sit-ups in 2 minutes

·     1 mile run in 12 minutes

·     Rowers meeting the Elite Standard will be recommended to apply for Junior National Team Development.

·     Rowers meeting the Gold/Silver/Bronze standard will be considered for first and second Varsity Crews.

·     Rowers meeting the Bronze standard will be considered for second Varsity/JV Crews.

·     Rowers not meeting minimum standard will be evaluated by coaching staff and parent committee.

EVALUATIONS:

Based on:

  • Erg Standard:   Must meet minimum.
  • Ability to work in unison with crewmates.
  • Attendance:   Must not miss more than 6 practices in a season.
  • Attitude:   Must possess a positive attitude toward coaches and fellow athletes.
  • Knowledge of Fundamentals:   Must exhibit knowledge of rowing fundamentals.
  • Commitment to the Team.
  • Percived Speed (determined by the coaches
