Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Athletic Background:
In Hawaii, Dove, a multi-sport athlete competed in Football, Cross-Country and Track. A series of concussions curtailed his carrer in football as Quarterback. He began running on the Track Team and used Cross Country as a training ground for the Track season, where he was Public Schools Champion in the 100 yard dash, 3rd in the 200 yard dash and a finalist in the 400. He made the All State Championships in the 100, 400 and Sprint Medley. Dove also competed in Surfing Tournaments in Hawaii. He later took up Motocross, and then went on to compete in Middle Distance Running. As a Masters Athlete, Dove has competed in local Cycling events and Masters Rowing events.

Michael is a certified United States Rowing Association Coach and has been involved with rowing in Ann Arbor for more than 10 years. In addition to having been a member of the Ann Arbor Rowing Club's board of directors. Michael rows competitively in Master's Regattas. Mr. Dove has been a coach with the Pioneer Crew since the fall of 1999 when he helped start the team as a club. His crews have won numerous State Championship's, Midwest Championship's and podiumed at the Canadian Secondary Schools Rowing Championship along with medaling at the US Rowing Youth National Championship.

Mr. Dove has placed a number of rowers on the Junior National Team. He also has been fortunate to have rowers in some of the top rowing programs in the country. He currently has rowers at Harvard, Brown, Michigan State, Smith, Yale, and Michigan.
