Scouting was
founded in England by Lord Baden-Powell, who ran an experimental camp
on
Brownsea Island off England's south coast. W.
D. Boyce
brought Scouting to America from England in 1910.
Today BSA has grown to become the world's largest boys' organization
that
has positively affected millions. Men who developed their leadership,
character and integrity while also learning life skills have saved
thousands of people as they have followed through with their Scout
motto of
"Be Prepared." Scouting experiences have turned good boys into great
men
doing great things in life.
