Everyone,
Here is the web site for the NSA National Event for 2008. The site is still being improved and updated so watch for some changes.
This is 400 acres of relatively pristine fighting grounds. Parking is all off site so we do NOT loose any ground for that. I am sending a few pic of the site that were taken in early April. There will be work crews with bobcats, chainsaws, chippers and more on Oct. 20 if anyone wishes to visit and see the site. (of Course, you are welcome to bring gloves to help if you wish) The camps will be cleaned, all old fences removed, mowed (a month or so before the event) trails cut and camp sites opened for tenting. Civilians site is a park like setting and all camps are about the same distance from the sutlers. Modern vendors are off to the far side so they are not quite so visible. This site sits on top of the ridges and will not be affected by the weather as any low lying area would be. Nothing is in a low area. It is approximately 5 miles off of several intersecting Interstates so it is easy to get to as well.
WE have made arrangements with Kansas Cities finest mounted police dept. to help us with the Saturday free style engagements that will take place on the back side of the site and carry towards the front. They will serve as “marshals” educated and instructed in our type of warfare, assigned to each Company/Battalion that wishes to participate (volunteer only)
This is NOT the Mahaffe or the Swope Park (zoo) site. It is the Jerry Smith Park at 139th and Prospect on the far South side of KC Missouri.
