Please post on the web page for Battalion Spring Drill.

To All:

Gentlemen, please read and forward this to all your comrades.

Battalion Spring Drill will be held April 20-23, 2006 at Historic Ft. Wayne, Detroit. The first two days will be dedicated
to Historic Preservation. We will be cleaning up the Fort grounds using modern day equipment and clothing. Equipment wish list
follows.

Ft. Wayne is a completely intact, Civil War fort. We will camp garrison style inside the fort walls. The only people who might get a
chance to sleep inside the barracks this year are the evening guard mounts for Saturday night. The barracks are currently under a
$2 million renovation and may be open by then, but don’t depend on it, at least this year. If you must, beg borrow or steal the
proper tent for the weekend. For obvious reasons campaign impression will not be recommended.

There are not any markets in the immediate area, so if you are planning to stay all four days bring enough food, drink and ice to
sustain you until Sunday. Wood, water and use of the Fort will not cost you anything, but your straw will cost $4.00/bail. Upon
arriving please check in at registration for camp assignment.

Line Officers, contact me with your headcount (248) 543-3388 between 6-8:00 p.m.

This year is going to be a special year for all of those serving in this Battalion. I don’t want anyone to miss out on the events we
have planned. The three event elements are preservation, living history and battle recreation. All will be conducted on historic
grounds.

Yours in Service,

Major McIntosh
