Duties In Camp
1. Camp Setup-
The first NCO at the event takes charge of arriving personnel and sees to the camp set up, location, vehicle unloading, tent setup, firewood and fire, straw, water, vehicle parking.
2. Extra Duties- The first sergeant assigns additional camp duties and times to platoons, sections, or individuals. (As much as possible these duties should be assigned before the event.) Duties include Battalion or Brigade HQ guard, company guard, firewood pickup, water barrel filling, and others as appropriate.
3. Formations- The first sergeant is responsible for all formations: reveille, work, battle, etc.
Note: unless otherwise directed by the event or Battalion Headquarters, reveille should be at a standard time such as 7:00AM for the authentic camp.
Work call is for all soldier members including Ramada Rangers unless excused ahead of time and should be from one to two hours later. (The one to two hour difference is to allow the soldiers in camp time to cook, eat and wash before the orders of the day are issued.) Work Call is the time when the additional duties and pertinent event information for the day are first announced.
