-When the Sentinels are close enough together, Command, 'Halt'. The old Sentinel will then whisper his instruction (under the supervision of the old Cpl. of the Guard). This done the old Sentinel will fall in at the rear of the column.

-This procedure will be repeated for the
remaining posts.
                    - After returning to Headquarters, the old Relief will be dismissed. Any men of the new Relief without a post will be put at rest and used as a reserve.
9. If any Sentinel is absent, go to the ISGT of that man's company (waking him if necessary to get a replacement or an officer if the ISGT is not available). DO NOT go directly to the men of that company.
10. Every 15 to 20 minutes, form the reserve (as before) and have them relieve the Sentinels at their posts. Have the first reserve replace Post 1 etc. After all the reserves have posts, then have the next man relieve the next post. Rest the reserve as before.
11. Between Midnight and 6:00am, Posts may be reduced to facilitate maximum rest for the men. NCO's must remain alert at all times.
12. The Sgt. Or Cpl of the Guard will:
-Respond to calls from the posts. -Notify the Colonel if a group of armed
men approach the camp or another emergency arise.
