Yes, not only is this old comic alive again, it has a new home over at
www.DirectionlessComic.com!
See you there!
- Mike Hanley
Yeah, it took a little longer than I expected - sorry about that. Anyway, the first comic of 2006 is up, and wouldn't you know it, I'm introducing a third permanent character. (existing ones are Mike and Lenny). Andres is mostly based on a real person in my dorm, but I may make the comic character be the catch-all for all things zany. Yes, he really does steal Lenny's yogurt right from under his nose, although he doesn't usually dress like a ninja, and he hasn't done it recently. It's all cool though, since Lenny just steals the yogurt from the dining hall anyway!
I'm going to have to get that "Cast" page put together so people can keep these things straight.
Since I'm back to updating with actual comics now, feel free to
vote for Directionless on the Webcomics List. For those of you coming from Medieval Mayhem, this is just like the old Top Web Comics, except TWC has changed hands half a dozen times over the past few years, and the original owner (Pierre-Luc Brunet) started a new site called
Webcomics List. For those of you new to the process, you can
vote up to once per day by clicking on the button on this page. I doubt I'll be able to keep up with weekly updates at the moment (though that could change) but every other week shouldn't be too hard. Getting my WCL ranking out of the upper 300's would certainly be a great morale booster!
NOTE - As usual, ComicGenesis is being pokey. The comic is uploaded, but I have no clue as to when the auto-updater will get around to putting it on the site. Finally updated at some point.
Yeah, sorry about the
month-and-a-half two-month-plus hiatus. This Christmas comic was supposed to be up, uh, on Christmas, but I had some problems with the Comic Genesis upload server. As it says above, Directionless is
not dead, and I
will be resuming new comics this week once I get back from visiting with relatives.
I may or may not keep up the quality of shading seen in earlier comics. The pretty smooth shading I had been using is quite time-comsuming, and it's a bit easier to go with a more "normal" 2-level shading as seen in this Christmas comic. We'll see how that works out.
UPDATE: Apparently I'm
still having problems with CG, so hopefully that Christmas comic will be up before
too long....
ANOTHER UPDATE: Problems seems to have finally been fixed. It's now technically
tuesday, making my "Christmas" comic two days late, but who's counting? :-/
