One's a heroic elf. One's an evil wizard. Will they save the world? I think not.

December 18, 2002: Just a Week Away...
One more week 'till Christmas, and Medieval Mayhem's second Cristmas comic: "You Better Not Cry" is up for the world to see! Come back next week, and see the conclusion of Foxostro's explanation of the evils of "Ol' Saint Nick." Until then, don't forget to vote, and remember we now have a cool new forum where you can post your thoughts about the comic, the dangers of Santa Claus, or whatever.

December 11, 2002: We Have a Forum!
Finally, Medieval Mayhem has it's own discussion forum at Top Web Comics! There, you can comment on the comic, make suggestions, or just talk about nothing in particular.

Speaking of Top Web Comics, Medieval Mayhem has fallen off the list! That's right, the comic is below spot #150! Remember, you can vote for Medieval Mayhem up to once a day! Come on, you know you want to...

Anyway, Comic #29: "You Better Watch Out" is up. This is the first in a series of Chirstmas-related comics inspired by a wisecrack made by a friend of mine who wishes to be known only as "God-Emperor Fox". Enjoy!

December 4, 2002: I'm Alive! No, Really!
First off, I'm terribly sorry about the nearly month-long lapse in the comics. No, I'm not gonna come up with a lame excuse or anything, I just screwed up. To make it up to you, I've posted two comics today: "The Return of the Ultimate Evil", and "I Kill Dead People". Regulars to this site should know this already, but make sure you read them in order! If you are new to the site, start at the beginning! Otherwise, nothing will make sense!

In other news, if you still feel like voting for me, there is a new way to vote. I still prefer that you vote at Top Web Comics, but now you can also vote at OnlineComics.net. Unfortunatly, OnlineComics requires that you be a member of their site. If you feel like it, you can even vote at both sites. However, I think that you can only vote once-per-ever at OnlineComics, as opposed to the once-a-day scheme at Top Web Comics.

So in conclusion, I'm back, and hopefully back to stay! The Christmas comics start next week, so "stay tuned."

November 6, 2002: Gaaaaaaaa! More Delays!
Yeah, the comic is a week late. Again. At least I have a (semi-)legitimate excuse this time. I was busy getting ready for halloween, putting the final touches on one of these. It's really cool, but unfortunatly the site with the instructions (and pictures) has been down for about a week now, so you'll have to wait to see my pictures before you can understand what I'm talking about!

Anyway, I finally got my home-made one working, and it looked great! Hopefully, I'll have some pics of it up soon. Until then, take a look at comic #26, "Choosing an Afterlife."

October 23, 2002: It's up! It's up!
Comic #25, "Ouiga Is Spelled Funny" is up!

Sorry about the delay. I've been really busy lately. In fact, I almost didn't get a comic up this week either! Enjoy the comic!

October 8, 2002: Just Another Day...
...and I don't have much to say.

Comic #24: "Boom" is up. I apologize if you don't find it funny, but it was required in order to move the plot along. (They can't stay in space on a buring ship forever, now can they?)

October 2, 2002: All Your Vote are Belong to Us...
First off, if you don't understand the title of this "news update", then you probably never will, so don't worry about it.

Anyway, WE MADE OUR GOAL!!! The final count was 110 votes in September. Thanks to everyone who voted! As promised, your narrator-death wallpaper is here! Click on the thumbnail below to download a ZIP archive containing the 1024x768 and 800x600 versions...

In addition to the wallpaper, you regularly scheduled comic, #23, "Self-Awareness is Useless" is ready. And remember, just because there aren't any goodies this month doesn't mean you can't still vote for me, and help my ranking on Top Web Comics!

September 25, 2002: Almost There . . . !
As of this writing, Medieval Mayhem has 92 votes. 92! 7 more, and my goal for this month will have been met. Now, not to force you into voting or anything, but if I get those 100 votes during September, then all you wonderful voters out there will get your special prize: The Narrator-Death wallpaper! SO, if you feel like voting, then cast your vote by clicking on the big "Vote" button on the right-hand side of your screen.

Aren't (semi)subliminal messages fun? (If you don't understand, reread the above paragrah about voting.)

Anyway, comic #22, "The Ship is Doomed" is up. Don't forget to... aw, enough already!

September 19, 2002: New Comic is Up!
Sorry about the delay, but comic #21, "If You Play WIth Fire..." is finally up. Enjoy!

September 18, 2002: "Delays Ahead"
I was sick yesterday, and I'm really busy today, so this week's comic will have to wait until tomorrow. :(

Sorry!

September 11, 2002: Lotta Votes So far! :D
Wow, so far I'm pretty impressed with the votes so far this month: 29 already! Keep up the good work! Anyway, comic #20: "Too Many Smilies ;)" is up. If you know what the ;) thing at the end of the title is, then you'll get the joke.

I think I've decided on the prize: it's going to be desktop wallpaper that somehow involves the narrator's death. Oh, and by the way...

God Bless America! American Flag

September 4, 2002: Another Month, Another Goal... And a Prize!
That's right! This month, I'm setting the goal of getting 100 votes. Medieval Mayhem got well over 100 votes in May, so we should be able to do it again. This time however, there's something in it for you! If Medieval Mayhem gets 100 votes during the month of September, I'll put up something special! I don't know what it will be yet. Maybe some desktop wallpaper? Maybe a set of icons? Heck, it could even be a screensaver, who knows?

So read comic #19, "Blastoff!", and vote for me if you like it. Remember, you can vote up to once a day. If I get enough votes, I put up the prize. Simple as that!

August 28, 2002: Nothing to Say Again...
Yup, it happened again. I've got nothing to say! Comic #18, "Let's See The Rocket Already!" is up for your reading pleasure. Don't forget to vote!

August 21, 2002: "Happy Belated Update"
First of all, the reason for last week's disquieting lack of comic was that I honestly didn't know what to do! I was out of ideas! That's right, webcomic authors get writer's block, too. :(

Fortunatly, I had an idea in time for this week, and comic #17, "The Sad Fate of Inventors", is up for you to see. In addition, I already have ideas for the next two weeks, so there shouldn't be any more interruptions for a while.

So enjoy the comic, and don't forget to vote for me on Top Web Comics if you like my work!

August 7, 2002: A Worthy Cause
There are so many movements and campaigns on the internet, that it can be hard for webmasters to find ones that they are willing to support. Well, I've found one!

We Support the Any Browser Campaign - View it on the web

I try very hard to make sure my pages look equally nice in every browser. Because of this, I've joined the "Viewable with any Browser Campaign". So far I have tested this site, and it looks fine in Netscape, Internet Explorer, and Konqueror (One of the browsers for Linux).

On another note, if you've never played "Dungeons and Dragons", not only are you missing out on all the fun, but you also won't get the punchline to this week's comic, "Do Not Question The Plot Hole!"

July 31, 2002: I'm Getting Tired of Having to Say "I'm Back!"
Sorry the comic is a whole week late. It's not my fault this time, honest! As a matter of fact, I'm not really sure who's fault it is.

Here's what happened: Last week, my AT&T cable modem stopped working. I checked, and everything was plugged in. Cable TV still worked, so the problem had to be somewhere at my end. I tried using a different cable, but that didn't work either.

It was time to call tech support. When the two AT&T guys finally got here, (several days later) They tried using a different cable too - the same cable I had used - and it worked! Why it worked for them, but didn't work for me when I did the exact same thing, I may never know.

The good news is that my internet access is finally working today, and I was able to get comic #15, "Not The Oldest Joke, But..." up for your reading enjoyment.

July 17, 2002: Back to Business
With the Ultimate Evil out of the way, it's time to get back to more important matters, such as killing the narrrator. Again. Enjoy comic #14, "Aftermath", and don't forget to vote!

July 10, 2002: The End Of the Ultimate Evil?
UPDATE: I fixed the dead link in the following paragraph. Sorry for any troubles you may have had.

Well, the Ultimate Evil joke was good while it lasted, but I've finally decided to end it and move on to something new. However, I think everyone can identify with Comic #13, "The Final Attack"!

By the way, I am still listed on the Top Webcomics list, so if you enjoy my comic, please vote for me! You can vote up to once a day, so if you like Medieval Mayhem then vote often! (Every day would be nice.)

July 3, 2002: Coming Up With These Titles Isn't Easy
It's a few hours later than I would have liked, but I think you'll enjoy comic #12, "The Elemental Forces of Good". If I have time, I'll put up a Fourth of July Comic tomorrow, but don't hold me to it.

By the way, I found what has to be the best game out for the Game Boy Advance; Golden Sun. It's a very immersive RPG with gameplay and a "fun factor" that rivals RPGs on bigger systems. Plus, It has the nicest sound and graphics I've ever seen coming out of my Game Boy Advance. In fact, the graphics were so good, it was often hard to tell the game was tile-based. In short, if you don't have this game, you are depriving yourself!!!

And so ends my first rant. :)

June 26, 2002: Back Yet Again
Yup, I'm back. Hopefully for good this time. I have another trip this weekend, but I'll be back in time for next week's comic.

My vacation was pretty good. I went and saw the Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, and even saw Lance Burton in Vegas. I was planning on slapping some sprites and humorous captions on some photos from the trip and putting them up as a bonus, but that will have to wait until I get the film developed! Anyway, Comic #11: "Evil Paperclip Minions of Doom!" is up. Yes, I know that the little dancing paperclip is turned off by default in Windows XP, but it's still funny, in my opinion.

June 12, 2002: Tenth Comic!!!
That's right! Medieval Mayhem finally made it to it's tenth comic. And on top of that, the comic is a political cartoon. Well, sorta. It doesn't make fun of politics, but it's still satire. Anyway, enjoy Comic #10, "The Ultimate Evil". I'm pretty sure the Ultimate Evil is going to become the rucurring villain in the story.

The bad news is, you won't get to see our heroes battle the Ultimate Evil for a couple weeks, because I'm going on vacation next week. Who knows, maybe I'll put up some pictures or something. I promise that I will be back the week after next, with a new comic, maybe even two.

Maybe. ;)

June 5, 2002: I'm Baaaaaaack!
UPDATE: I was in a really big hurry to get this up last night. That's why some of you may have noticed broken links, spelling errors, ("toal" votes) and other such goof-ups on my part. I think I got it all fixed now!

First of all, I really am sorry that I've gone two weeks without a comic. If I had it my way, I'd update every day, but this pesky little annoyance called "life" keeps interrupting me. Just like "life" to ruin my day!

Fortunatly, I come bearing good news! First of all the total votes for May was 119, which is a LOT more than I expected. Next time I do something like that, I'll have to set a harder goal.

In case you haven't noticed, I am now banner sharing with the most excellent comic Bob and Nym You must read this comic! It is hilarious! "Oh my God! I Killed God!" should make it onto some kind of Famous Comic Quotes of All Time list or something.

In other news, Alex of Elftor fame has created this awesome Guest Comic for Medieval Mayhem.

Last, but not least, Comic #9: "Why Elves Are Born Leaders" is finally up! Enjoy!

May 22, 2002: Medic!
The good news is, we made it past my goal. 101 votes, hooray!

The bad news is, I took a nose-dive into asphalt on Monday. My whole right side aches, I ripped up my shoulder real good, and got a mild concussion to boot! :( Unfortunatly, that means no comic for today. Sorry. I'll try to get one up as soon as I can. In the meantime check out some of the other great comics at Top Web Comics.

P.S. After seeing how tiny this text looks on big monitors, I've increased the size.

May 15, 2002: Almost There...

5 VOTES TO GO!!!!!

That's right, Medieval Mayhem is only 5 votes away from my goal of 75 votes in May! Remember, you can vote once a day, so keep 'em comin'!

Also, comic #8, "Evil Rears It's Cuddly Head" is up. Enjoy!
And as a politician would say: voteforme!

May 12, 2002: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
It's Mother's Day, and that means it's time for Medieval Mayhem's first holiday comic! in addition to the regular comedy content, this comic also gives us a glimpse into the Evil Wizard's troubled past...

Also, this marks the one-month anniversary of Medieval Mayhem. Yay! Of course, the definition of the word "anniversary" means that there is no such thing as a "one-month anniversary", because anniversaries are in one year increments. Oh well. The comic's still been going for one month.

So enjoy the Mother's Day Special, and I'll be back again on Wednesday.

May 8, 2002: I'm in vote heaven! :-)
Wow! It's only been one week, and we're already halfway to my goal for May! I had been around #50 at the end of last month, and I'm currently at #41, which is a BIG jump for one week! Remember, you can vote once a day, so keep those votes coming!

I got today's comic up, "Can't You See the Writing on the Wall?". Also, I plan on putting together a Mother's Day special, so look for that sometime this weekend, probably on Saturday, but maybe on Friday if I can get myself motivated enough.

Also, I'm always open to suggestions. If you have an idea for the comic, just e-mail me. I may use it, I may not, but I'd like to try and "Give the People What They Want" with this site.

So I guess that's it for today. Read the comic, vote for me if you like it, and I'll be back on Mother's Day!

May 1, 2002: I've set the goal!
It's a new month, and that means the Top Web Comics Top 150 list has been reset! I was very pleased this morning when I discovered that Medieval Mayhem had jumped up to #38! Granted, it didn't stay there long but hey, it was fun while it lasted! Last month, I got 68 votes, which is pretty good for a new comic that didn't even start at the beginning of the month!

Even so, I think we can beat that, so I'm setting the goal of getting 75 votes in May! That's only seven more than last month, so I think it's a reasonable goal. I'll be keeping track of votes here on the site. As of this update, Medieval Mayhem had 4 votes. Remember, you can vote up to once a day, so Vote Now!

Also, Top Web Comics offers free forum hosting for webcomics. Having a forum for Medieval Mayhem sounds like it might be cool, but I don't want to go through the work of setting it up and maintaining it if no one's going to use it. So, if you would like a forum dedicated to Medieval Mayhem, please e-mail me so I can get some idea of how much interest there is in something like this. Also, if you are already registered on the T.W.C. forums, you can send me a Private Message. (My handle is Quantum2005)

Wow. Last week I had nothing to say, and now I can't get myself to shut up. In any case, Comic #6: "When Will the Killing End?" is up. And for those of you that think I'm overusing the narrator joke, I promise he won't get killed, next week.

April 24, 2002: Not much to say
Well, I guess it happens to everyone: I've got nothing to say!

Oh well. At least comic number 5, "Another One Bites the Dust" is up. Hope you like it!

April 17, 2002: Hooray For Infoceptor!
Thanks to my good friend drkdstryer's recent post on Infoceptor's forums, I have my first two "real" fans! "Real" meaning people whom I don't know in real life. Yay!

Ahem. On a slightly more serious note, I updated the site today. Since Medieval Mayhem is still a relatively new webcomic, I decided to post two more comics today: "A Meeting With the King", and "A Robbery. In Broad Daylight?". I'll probably only update with one next week though. Until then, enjoy! (And don't forget to vote!)

On a side note, some people have been reporting trouble with the Guestbook. For some reason, this only seems to happen in Internet Explorer. Rest assured, I'm trying to figure this out. Until I do, if you have trouble, the only solution I can think of is to use another browser, such as Netscape.

April 10, 2002: The First Update. Ever.
Welcome to Medieval Mayhem! Medieval Mayhem is a sprite comic with a Dungeons and Dragons / medieval setting (duh). It is somewhat unique in the fact that I make about 99% of the sprites myself. The first two comics are up, much more to come! So far, It looks like I'm going to be updating this site on a weekly basis, probably on Wednesdays. E-mail me with any comments or suggestions, and don't forget to VOTE for Medieval Mayhem at Top Web Comics.

Until next week, enjoy the first two comics: "Could it be, a Quest?", and "This Webcomic's First Casualty". (The second one's funnier, but it'll make more sense if you read them in order.)
