me n cannon.jpg (1321458 bytes)

15th C cannon being cleaned.  This is an example of a small falconet sized field piece.  It shoots a one pound ball and  is designed and built to easily disassemble into five large pieces for transport and can be moved, assembled and disassembled by one person.  SOLD

pipe_stick.jpg (27559 bytes)15th C matchlock with simple serpentine mechanism.  This gun has seen extensive use and has proven quite dependable.  Typical of the early mechanisms used, though the serpentine can be ignored for volley fire and the match held in the hand.  Not as accurate, but a bit more dependable.

snap_match.jpg (29615 bytes)Late 15th C snap matchlock.  Mechanism and some details based on a piece in the Landzeughaus in Graz.  A fun piece, but the advantages of a snapping mechanism are questionable.   Made with a damascus barrel, it is .72 caliber with a walnut stock and is $300.00US.

Close up detail of the gun at left.  The simple external firing mechanism works as designed but occasionally nocks the fire out or off of the match when firing.  Most have decided that the spring resistance or simple serpentine as above are more effective for aimed fire.

vedelspang.jpg (17728 bytes)Based on the gun found near the Vedelspang castle.  Typical of early fire arms, it makes a much better club than gun, but it's still fun to shoot.

hand cannon 003.jpg (62767 bytes) Based on illuminations of 15th C firearms we now have an example SOLD.

ribbaud2.jpg (82638 bytes)Based on iconographic evidence and descriptions and inventory listings of the 14th Century, this 4 barreled ribaudequin comes with hand made wheels and 4 barrels.  As was common for the time, the carriage is designed to be hauled by hand.  In addition, this one has been designed to have the wheels taken off for easier transport.  This is for the gun only and includes no implements.  The barrels are all .45 caliber and modern blackpowder supplies can be used for loading and cleaning.  I can supply a linstock if requested. SOLD
