This project is due:

Brain Poster Project

For this project you (and your partners) will create a large brain map on poster board to display in our classroom.

Step 1: The Who

Pick partners.  You can work alone but I discourage it since there is a lot of work for just one person.  You can work in groups ranging from 2-4 people.  Partners do not need to be in the same class period.

Step 2:  The Diagram.

Draw and color a diagram of the human brain.  This MUST be done by hand!!!  Don't use up all the poster board for this.  You can draw one large image that will display all the parts or you can draw two or more images - it is up to the group.  All the following parts must be labeled:

the 4 lobes, hypothalamus, midbrain, amygdala, Wernicke's area, pons, spinal cord, motor cortex, sensory cortex, forebrain, cerebral cortex, thalamus, hindbrain, medulla, cerebellum, broca's area, corpus callosum, pituitary gland.

Step 3:  The Functions.

Next you need to briefly define/state the function of all brain parts.  This should be short.  Bullets are good.  Do not write wordy descriptions . . . summarize but include the important information.

Step 4:  The Pictures.

Provide an illustration for all brain parts.  Visuals will help you remember what each part does.  The pictures can come from magazines or drawn by hand.
