Methods for Studying
Behavior Project
Three options are listed below. You
must select and complete 1 of the 3 methods for studying behavior options.
OPTION 1
Survey
Give 8 people a survey and compile
results. Have those surveyed write their age and sex on the survey but
not their names. Subjects cannot be someone from a Psychology class and
cannot fill out more than one survey (they cannot be the subject for more than
one tester).
You must compile the results in a 2 page
typed paper comparing and explaining the results based on age and sex.
All surveys should be turned in with your
paper.
OPTION 2
Interview
You must interview 5 people and compare
and contrast how different people feel about mental health. You will then type
a 2 page summary/analysis of your interviews. You cannot interview
someone from Psychology class. The interview forms and any notes from
the interviews should be turned in with the paper.
OPTION 3
Natural Observation
Observe students' behavior in the
cafeteria. You must observe during at least 2 lunch periods.
Observe the groupings of students; look at male/female, age (year in school)
social connections (clubs/sports), ethnic/racial similarities and differences
as to how people group while eating. You must turn in your notes from
your observations as well as a 2 page typed paper analyzing your results.
