The Mustang

Here are some pictures of the '87 Mustang GT I'm using as a donor car for my cobra project.  The engine, transmission, driveshaft, rear end, electrical system, computer, pedal box, E-brake, and a few other important parts were taken out of it.  Then it was dragged away and melted down, and has been recycled into a Toyota by now.

5.0 Removal/Preparation

This is my 1987 Ford 5.0 Liter.  She came out of the mustang in the harsh winter moths as a grease-coated, dirt-encrusted diamond-in-the-rough, but over time she has been cleaned up and turned into a fine looking engine with the help of a few new parts and a lot of degreaser and spray paint.

The Cobra (body & frame before construction)

Yep, the cobra.  Some pictures of the body and frame, before the real work began.

Construction

Pictures of each thing as it gets added to the frame, along with descriptions of what's going on.

It's a roller!

Pictures from when the Cobra was rolled out of the garage for the first time since it was a Mustang (July 31 '04)

Engine goes in

The engine finally goes back into the car on August 5th, 2004.

Garage Renovation (November 26, 2004)

I renovated my garage to 1)Make it warmer for winter car work, 2)Make it brighter, 3)Organize all my tools, and 4)Put in more electrical outlets.  The walls, ceiling, doors and windows were insulated, space heaters were added, six fluorescent lights were put up, two more outlets were added, and every square inch of wallspace was covered with pegboard and painted white to make my little 1-car garage the best damn workshop/showroom around.
