IGBO ANNUAL TOURNAMENT
We heard from New England IGBO Representative Rob Silliman this month regarding our membership.  The Annual (and Mid-Year) Tournaments have a moral support clause which allows non-USBC certified leagues (such as ours) to participate using our established handicaps.  However, we will not be eligible for awards unless we join USBC as individual associate members.  I believe that is a $25 fee per tournament.  If participating in tournaments is something that many of our members are interested in, it would behoove us to become a USBC-certified league in the future.  As far as the other tournaments throughout the country and participating as non-USBC bowlers...each tournament has its own rules.  Visit www.igbo.org for tourney info and any other info you might need.

As for the Denver tourney, I believe there are at least 3 of us who have expressed interest in attending.  I'll be out of town for a couple of weeks (gay daddy cruise to Mexico!), but will be pushing this event hard upon my return.

And keep in mind there is a tournament Feb 16-18 at New Haven, CT that you may still have time to enroll in.  Go to the IGBO website for more info.

KAREN SINGS!
Several of us attended Karen's show at Fratello's Saturday night.  She put on an awesome show and is not to be missed!  Soon, we'll all be able to say we knew her when!!  She has upcoming shows at the Girlspot (Club Gallery) in Providence on Feb 10th at 9pm, the Common Man in Merrimack on Feb 13th from 6-9 and the Common Man in Windham on Feb 14th from 7-10.  Make an extra effort to get out and support our singing sister.  For CD, gig, bio, and other info, visit her website, www.kgrenier.com.

NEW MEMBERS
Since we have several new members that have joined us in the last few weeks, I'm including a brief history of some of our accomplishments.  First off, this newsletter comes out at the beginning of the month and keeps you updated on what's happening with the league and lists any events that you may have interest in attending.  If you have anything that you would like to see in the newsletter or have any announcements, please see Tim or email him at timrich64@comast.net.  We also have our own website, run by Christine.  The site keeps track of standings & recaps, and offers links to various items of interest in our community.  You can find it at http://home.comcast.net/~MerrimackGNL/.  We have a 50/50 drawing every week run by Hung and his crew...just $1 a ticket...you can't win if you don't play!  We are in the process of joining IGBO (International Gay Bowling Organization), which will open us up to a whole new world of gay bowling that we haven't even imagined yet.  Tim is your IGBO rep.
For the rest of the league, if you haven't introduced yourself to Bob, Mike, Kel, Rick W, or Richard yet, please do so tonight!
