IGBO
We are joining IGBO as a league.
The $75 enrollment fee will be paid by
the league. The enrollment form
will be signed by the appropriate
officers tonight and mailed
tomorrow. I'll do my best to keep
you informed of upcoming local and
national tournaments. We will be
receiving their newsletter
shortly. If you would like more
info, visit their website at
www.igbo.org.
NHGMC & AKSARA
This Saturday and Sunday, 8 members of
the New Hampshire Gay Men's Chorus
(including your Vice-President) will be
performing with the women's group,
Aksara, an 11-member group directed by
Vicki Schneider. These two groups
have talked about performing together
for a few years...finally the time has
arrived! Aksara has several CD's
out and perform mostly acapella music,
designed to enlighten and lift your
spirits. The NHGMC group will
perform 4 songs with Aksara and one on
their own. The rest of the show
will be the wonderful sounds of Aksara!
Come to the Unitarian Universalist
Church, 669 Union St, Manchester, this
weekend and support your gay brothers
& sisters! Showtimes are 7pm
on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday. You
can buy your tickets at the door or call
668-8494 to reserve your
tickets.
NHGMC WINTER CONCERT
And speaking of the NHGMC, their winter
concerts are approaching rapidly!
Concert dates and times are as
follows: Dec 2, 7:30pm, Christ
Episcopal Church, Portsmouth; Dec 3,
4pm, Plymouth Congregational
Church;
Dec 9, 7:30pm, Derryfield School,
Manchester; Dec 10, 4pm, Unitarian
Universalist Church, Nashua. This
concert will definitely put you 'in the
mood' for the holidays. Tickets can be
ordered by visiting their website,
www.nhgmc.com
and selecting the Events section.
You can also order them through your
Vice-President or buy them at the
door. Ticket prices are $16 each
($12 for under 13 and Senior
Citizens). We will also be
raffling off a homemade quilt by Rick
Carkin (former league member) and four
large fruit cakes from Tante Marie (aka
Richard Talbot, Tim's
partner!).
REMINDERS
Be sure and check out the league bowling
site. If you lose or forget your
newsletter (God forbid!), you can find
it and other useful info on our website
at
home.comcast.net/~MerrimackGNL/.
Also, we are still having issues with
bowling etiquette! Please,
remember to exit the lane after you have
bowled your first ball and allow others
on either side of you to bowl.
Don't stand by the ball retriever and
wait for your ball to come back to
you! If you observe an etiquette
violator, politely remind them to read
their newsletter!
Finally, we have been having a number of
scoring errors on the scoresheets each
week. If all your handicaps and
absentee scores are entered properly
into the computer at the beginning of
each game, it's simply a matter of
selecting the Recap feature on the
computer and copying the scores down at
the end of the game or series. If
you're still not sure how to enter
handicap or absentee scores, grab an
officer and have him or her teach
you!
QUESTIONNAIRE TIME!
Your board needs some info from
you. Please fill out the attached
questionnaire and return it to Ron by
the end of the night!
