A
Fundraising Picnic and Swap Meet
for the Messiah Lutheran Church in
Elgin
Good news travels fast. The 2008 picnic was a resounding success, with many folks arriving in the Midwest a day early to join the fun. The picnic and swap meet started the weekend in a relaxed and positive spirit. And of course it earned funds that will support the church’s good works in the community throughout the year. Thanks to all who dropped by!
Here’s a draft of next year’s announcement. Check back when making your plans for June 2009.
Thursday - June 11, 2009
Join us for a picnic and swap meet on Thursday, June 11th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Elgin - just 30 minutes from O’Hare and 20 minutes from Union.
The church
grounds provide ample parking space. Unload the contents of your vehicle for
others to see. Spread a blanket and chairs under a shade tree on the lawn. This
is an ideal venue for a nice June day. It starts the weekend in a relaxed
and up beat spirit. And it earns funds that supported the church's community
work throughout the year.
Restrooms and food service will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Volunteers will serve coffee and doughnuts in the morning, and they’ll have cold beverages, hot dogs, chips and cookies for lunch.
DONATIONS of $15 per person will be collected at the gate to further the good works of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Consider giving more generously if you have a good day at the swap meet.
