Super Man / Solar War / Orion XIV (1979)

Solar War: a kind of sequel to Video Pinball. 5 units were built and around 300 kits sold to an Italian company. Originally to be called Super Man but the licensing deal fell through and they needed another name to fit the 5 3 pattern (because of the drop targets)

Mike Albaugh says:

The 300 "kits" were sold to a Greek distributor/operator, not Italian, as far as I know. No reason Mktg would lie to me, and I would have remembered if it had been Italian, and asked what area, since I my mom's folks were from Varese, now in Italy, but part of the Austro-Hungarian empire at the time my Grandfather came here :-) (I, of course, have one of the 5 pre-prod games in my garage)

Another 5.3 name briefly used for the game was "Orion XIV". I dimly recall a "comp" plex with that name being made. It may still be out there somehwere. Dave Theuerer did (most of?) the sounds, BTW.
