OPA OPA

Who is this awesome video game icon? Very little is known. Opa-Opa is the coolest star of video games and likes the blanket of seclusion. The airborne celebrity is known to avoid press conferences and television appearances. Is this out of humility or just to keep an air of mystique? Either way, the reputation of Opa-Opa hasn't been diminished by overexposure, as is the case with many other video game stars. This small page details what is known about Opa-Opa. The story begins in the Fantasy Zone...

In the space year 623X, scientists of the Fantasy Zone discovered an irregularly gravitating phenomenon in space, near the planet Menon. They launched a space patrol mission in search of the mystery. On the way there, they encountered an onslaught of a weird military troop and were robbed of the line of communication to the operation base back home.

The wicked troop was later called the "Dark Menon Force". The goal of the troop was to conquer the Fantasy Zone. The invaders made their way to the planet metropolises and seized them, leaving behind brutal acts of plunder and slaughter.

O-Papa, father of the hero, Opa-Opa, foresaw the deployment of the Dark Menon Force and launched a defense aggression. His attempt was futile. He was beaten down by the enemy's mighty force and fatally wounded.

It was time for the hero Opa-Opa to rise and face the challenge to avenge O-Papa's murder and restore peace to the Fantasy Zone. The Menon attackers would wage three assaults against the Fantasy Zone before being driven back for good.

News of Opa-Opa's successful battle against the Menons spread throughout the galaxy. Sensing that other evil forces in the universe must also be battled, Opa-Opa searched for another cause that needed help. One of the causes was the "ragtag group" called the Zillion Team. Being humble, Opa-Opa refused the "glamour" type positions and instead was the brains behind the team, inventing and testing all the cool weapons and battle suits. While it is not widely known, Opa-Opa secretly trained the group and taught them how to be warriors, though they still have much to learn before becoming great fighters like Opa-Opa.
Menon attack profile:

Menon forces generally deploy seven fleets which each attack one planet in a targeted zone. These are led by the "commander" which sets up his command station at an uninhabited planet. If fleet leaders encounter too much resistance, they are known to abandon all their plunder and retreat to this planet.

Each of the seven fleets is led by a giant monster. The monster sets up "bases" which serve as warps from the Menon Zone, allowing Menon troops to transport to the planet and attack!

Menon soldiers are also known as "corpse souls". The reason Menon soldiers take so many forms is unknown. Each type of Menon form was given a name by Fantasy Zone scientists. "Patron", "Quili-Quili", "Coulon", "Moocolon", "Shatboo", "Squel", "M.F." (Mechanical Fish), and "Jerry" are but a few.

Twinbee says 'Peace Out'

Opa-Opa's brother Upa-Upa is now head of the Fantasy Zone defense squad, in case the Menons decide to attack again (again?!?). O-Papa was avenged after Opa-Opa defeated the "dark" O-Papa that the Menons created. Opa-Opa has discovered a few similar friends travelling across the galaxy. The Twinbees (stars of the game Twinbee/Stinger) defeated the "Parodius" invaders, Opa-Opa learned of this and thinks these invaders may have connections to the evil Menon force. Opa-Opa also gave advice to the heros of Clu-Clu Land on how to overcome the "maze defense system", which was very similar to the system the Menons used in their third Fantasy Zone strike.

Those Clu-Clus. What a couple of crack-ups!
