GREENSBORO, NC - Coming off a 2-1 storm-shortened loss to the Nashville Metros on July 12 that knocked them out of playoff contention, the Carolina Dynamo (7-2-6, 23 points) exacted a bit of revenge a week later, defeating the Metros 4-0. Macpherson Stadium continues to be a house of horrors for the Metros as they have lost all five matches to the Dynamo at that venue by a combined goal total of 18-1.

Nashville could have found themselves down a goal early when goalkeeper Kyle Roelke shown a yellow card and Carolina was awarded a penalty kick in the 15th minute.  Roelke made up for it by saving the shot from the spot and keeping it scoreless. However, the Dynamo were not going to be denied for long. At the half hour mark, Sam Cronin took advantage of a fortuitous bounce off a corner kick to give the home side a 1-0 lead. Cronin was not finished involving himself in scoring opportunities. Just minutes later he scored from distance for his second of the match and then provided Michael Lahoud service on his goal in the 38th minute.

Down by three goals after 45 minutes, the Metros knew that getting back in the match would be a difficult task. They never managed to draw a goal back from the Dynamo, but they were able to keep the ball out of their own goal for the majority of the second half. With ten minutes remaining, Michael Lahoud and Emmanuel Joseph teamed up for the final goal of the match.

The Nashville Metros (3-0-11, 9 points) will finish the 2008 season in Cary to take on the RailHawks U23's (8-2-5, 26 points) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. The road team has been victorious in every match-up between the two clubs this season.
