THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

A faithful teaching of the Word of God, unmixed with the systems of men, will provide the receptive hearer with a firm foundation for life and shield against error.

1. ALL HAVE SINNED( http://home.comcast.net/~mfairlady/GenFall.html [click link "The Fall" below]). Sin is what we do and think that dishonors God. (Rom. 3:10, 22, 23)
2. BECAUSE OF OUR SIN, WE ARE SEPARATED FROM GOD. God is holy, and He cannot look upon sin. Sin must be punished, and the punishment for our sin is eternal death in a horrible place of torment called Hell. (Rom. 6:32; James 1:15)
3. GOD LOVES US, AND HE SENT HIS SON, JESUS, TO TAKE AWAY OUR SINS. Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on Calvary’s cross. He could take the eternal punishment for our sins because He is God. (John 3:16; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:24; Heb. 9:22)
4. WE MUST BELIEVE IN OUR HEARTS THAT JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS. By believing on Him and accepting His free gift of eternal life, our sins are forgiven, and the Holy Spirit comes to live in our heart to help us live for God. (John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Rom. 10:13)
