The Vol. Barto Fire Company, chartered in 1948, is the designated fire company of Washington Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. We protect a mostly rural 14.14 square mile area with a population of 3,354 people. Currently, we operate out of one station located on Old Route 100, just south of Barto Rd. We are a volunteer fire company, made up of approximately 20 active firefighters/fire police.
In addition to providing fire protection and supression for Washington Township, we also provide mutual aid to, and receive mutual aid from the following companies:
