Programmable Dice Roller

Dice Roller is a Newton 2.0 application

The zip file includes DiceRoller.pkg and complete source code.

I have a cheap Palm device and I thought I would check it out. So I went on to the internet to see what was available for download. One of the things I found were dice rollers for table top role playing games. A couple of these were rather nice. So when I gave my Palm to my wife in a failed attempt to help her get organized, I decided to write a dice rolling application for my Newton. This is the result. You can create characters and for each character up to five pages of nine pre-compiled dice combinations. I usually set up a page for melee attacks, one for ranged attacks, another for skill checks etc. Then the next time I play that character I just need to reload it to be ready to play. Tapping the "Character Name" bar will allow you to create or load a character. Tapping the number button before the die label allows you to edit the die combination and label. Tapping the label rolls that combination of dice and logs it to the "Result" list and in the large box below the list. The 1-5 buttons on the bottom choose which page to display. The "N" button brings up a page of simple presets. Note: You must load or create a character before editing any dice combination.
