If we register the Domain
Name at
http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/default.asp?e=com the
cost is $8.95/yr and lower for multiple years,
for 10 years its $69.95. As for Hosting the site there is a company that
hosts small sites at a low cost

I think the Standard plan for $20 a year is reasonable. It will allow us
to have a forum database, private messaging for members, and 25 emails (President@MHSN83.com,
WebMaster@MHSN83.com,
etc.). But read the FAQ for each company, especially e-rice, the host. We
can always change hosting companies later.

Board Forum is use, members have to register
before leaving messages. The Forum software is open source, free to
download and use from here

I mentioned I'd
like to do a Memoriam page and Karen had the idea of having people post
their remembrances. I like the idea, but the current host of the site
(my Comcast account) doesn't allow this. I found a free forum software
called PHPBB that will not run on the current host. I also found an
inexpensive host that I may move the site to. If I do this the Forums
will require a logon and password.
If / When the site is moved a domain name would have to be registered.
MHSN83.com is available. I like this name as it is short sweet and to
the point. Any other ideas are welcomed.
For now I will keep updating the site as time permits. Right now every
couple days or so.
